The Conference ETESD-2022 took place on 13-16 October 2022 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The conference aims were to provide opportunities to lecturers and researchers throughout Uzbekistan and CIS countries to publish their research at the international level, to discuss technological advances and cutting-edge engineering solutions, related to farming and irrigation as well as to share with the world academic community open access information about actual state of agriculture in Uzbekistan.

The event hosted by National Research University “Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers” took place on 13-15 September 2023 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The purpose of the Conference was to share the experience in the areas of environment protection, biodiversity preservation, innovative technologies used in agriculture, preventing environmental damage, as well as to discuss the urgent problems and prospects of advanced technologies of food production, soil protection and tillage, water saving, environmental research and earth space systems.

The Conference “ETESD-II 2023” was held with the support of scientists of Iowa State University, North Dakota State University and The Ohio State University (USA), Ondokuz Mayis University and the Association of Ecological Agriculture Organization (Turkey), University Technology Malaysia (Malaysia), Angel Kanchev University of Ruse (Bulgaria), Bangladesh Agricultural University (Bangladesh), S. Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical University and South Kazakhstan University named after M. Auezov (Kazakhstan). The Program Committee and Editorial Board included prominent professors and scientists from Uzbekistan, Turkey, the USA, Bulgaria, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh.

The conference aims were to provide opportunities to lecturers and researchers throughout Uzbekistan and CIS countries to publish their research at the international level, to discuss technological advances and cutting-edge engineering solutions, related to farming and irrigation as well as to share with the world academic community open access information about actual state of agriculture in Uzbekistan. Scientists and practitioners from Uzbekistan and abroad submitted over 150 manuscripts. All the papers were peer-reviewed. As a result, about 50 of them were selected for publication.

The Proceedings of ETESD-2023 were published in:

• IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (volume 1284).
• E3S Web of Conferences Volume 443 (2023)

The proceedings present to the readers the recent advances in the field of environmental engineering and soil technologies, techniques of energy, oil and gas industries; technologies and technical means for storage, processing and preservation of food products; natural resources and environmental protection, biodiversity; water resources and water saving technologies; technologies for cleaning up environmental damage and waste disposal as well as in earth space sensing systems.

After a rigorous peer-review process, the best papers presented at our conference will be selected for publication in one of two prestigious journals:

• IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (EES). IOP Conference Series: EES focuses on publishing research in the fields of earth and environmental science. The publication is expected till the end of 2024. Submission till 10 October 2024.
• E3S Web of Conferences. E3S Web of Conferences has a broader scope, covering environment, energy, and earth sciences. The publication isexpected in February 2025. Only 50 best papers will be sent to the Publisher.

The peer review of papers will be managed by the conference organizers and proceedings editors. All submitted papers will be evaluated by competent reviewers based on their relevance to the conference theme, originality, clarity, completeness, and contribution to the field. Only papers that receive clear support from the reviewers and meet the high standards of quality required by the publishers will be accepted for publication. The review process will adhere to principles of unbiased consideration, avoidance of offensive terminology, and compliance with ethical policies.

One author should not submit more than two articles to the conference. This includes papers that they have co-authored.

Paper format

• The paper size is European A4.
• Margins are 4cm (top), 2.5cm (left and right) and 2.7cm (bottom).
• There are no page numbers, headers or footers within the paper.
• Text is single spaced, not double spaced.
• All fonts are embedded.
• All pages are portrait (landscape pages should be rotated).
• The abstract text should be indented 25mm from the left margin and there should be 10mm space after the abstract before you begin the main text of your article, starting on the same page as the abstract.

Paper content

• The paper includes the author name(s) and affiliation(s) (full address including country).
• All articles must contain an abstract.
• All figures and tables should be numbered in numerical order. Please ensure that figure/table numbers are not duplicated or missed.
• Figures are legible and placed within the text, not collected at the end of the document.
• If section headings are numbered, ensure that they are numbered numerically, and no numbers are duplicated or missing.
• Displayed equations should follow a naming convention in numerical order, i.e. (1), (2), (3) etc or by section, i.e. (1.1), (1.2) etc. Ensure every displayed equation has its own number and none are duplicated or missing.
• Reference lists are checked for accuracy. References can only be linked via CrossRef if they are correct and complete.
• If numbering references (Harvard system) ensure that references are numbered numerically, every reference has its own number and no numbers are duplicated or missing.

After double-blind reviewing, accepted and presented on the Conference papers will be sent to Conference Proceedings for publishing.
Organizing Committee will send each paper to 2 independent reviewers, experts in the area of the paper.
So, each paper will be evaluated by two independent experts according to the following Criteria:

1) Relevance to the conference directions

2) Scientific-technical originality, potential impact and interest for the audience

3) Scientific and technical content, novelty and importance

4) Quality of the presentation, clarity of the content

5) Comments for all authors will be given by the reviewers

The reviewers are going to indicate their familiarity with the paper's subject, evaluate the paper along the aforementioned criteria. Finally, the Organizing Committee will decide what papers will be accepted. But the final decision is taken by the Publisher.
